Our guest speaker for this meeting is Daniel Shaw, Northampton resident and one of the Just Stop Oil (JSO*) activists jailed for their part in organising a blockade of the M25 that took place in November 2022. There was much media coverage of the sentences of 4 years' imprisonment handed out to Dan and four other activists (Roger Hallam, founder of Extinction Rebellion, was sentenced to 5 years). The sentences were subsequently reduced on appeal, to 3 years in Dan's case.

Dan joins us to talk about his human experience at JSO starting with his drive to defend the climate, protesting, and going to prison, as well as the aftermath of this which included losing his career.
