The Countryside Kitchen meets...

One of the joys of podcasts is that they really are egalitarian – lots of podcasters are big names backed by well-established production companies, but just as many aren’t, and it is great to be able to recommend a podcast made locally.

Milly Fyfe is a businesswoman and food blogger, as well as being a farmer’s wife and mother of two. It’s not surprising then, that her podcast The Countryside Kitchen meets focuses on farming and food related matters.

The most recent episode, an interview with two Lincolnshire potato farmers, provides a really good insight into the challenges presented to farmers by this year’s unpredictable weather. And into the genuine passion and commitment that farmers have for their product – these two really love their potatoes!

In a future where food security issues will mean a lot of focus on home-produced food, we should all aim to get a better understanding of UK farmers and food producers, and this podcast is a great way to do that.
