# People's Emergency Briefing

## Community film screenings and discussions

The ***People’s Emergency Briefing*** film features footage from last November’s [**National Emergency Briefing**](https://www.nebriefing.org/?ref=exchange.ca-wn.org) which brought together leading UK experts in climate science, food security, health, economics, national security and nature.

The film presents a clear, measured overview of **how the climate and nature crisis is affecting everyday life** in Britain - and what the evidence says about risks and responses. 

The **purpose of the film is to support informed democratic discussion** and ensure Parliament and the public share a common **understanding of the scale and urgency** of the challenge. Thousands of screenings have already taken place across the UK, with many more scheduled. CA-WN arranged screenings in Towcester, Brackley, Northampton and Daventry during June and July. Crucially each screening is followed by a discussion among attendees - we found the discussions at the West Northamptonshire screenings lively and interesting, with many attendees sharing local issues and concerns as well as making plans for what to do next.
